Quality and Safety

From component manufacturing through packaging, Calico performs intense regulatory inspections. Calico and Scripto lighters exceed CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) requirements and meet ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) voluntary safety standards. In addition, Calico upholds ISO certification.

Immediately prior to packaging, every Calico and Scripto utility lighter is subjected to a final quality and safety inspection. No other lighter manufacturer is making 100% QC checks.

Calico Brands, Inc. has the most tested lighters on the market. Aside from exceeding CPSC safety requirements and meeting ASTM voluntary safety standards, Calico performs it’s own Quality Assurance tests in-house. Calico has the ability to perform the same tests performed by Bureau Veritas in it’s certified testing lab, through specialized equipment and Bureau Veritas trained personnel.
